Le Quartier chinois me rappelle les moments où je me rendais à l’épicerie avec mon père pour acheter des légumes et autres produits pour notre restaurant. Le dialecte toisanais résonnait dans la rue lorsque ses amis et lui se saluaient en se demandant: « As-tu déjà mangé? » Les Célibataires, ces hommes qui ont des femmes en Chine, m’ont dit de travailler fort à l’école, pour montrer que les Chinois pouvaient faire plus que cuisiner et laver des vêtements dans ce pays. J’ai obtenu un baccalauréat en journalisme et je suis devenue une auteure et réalisatrice de documentaires pour pouvoir raconter leurs histoires.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and became an author and documentary filmmaker so that I could tell their stories.
