Not belonging to "regular society" has always been partially choice and partially circumstances beyond my control. I've always been an "outsider". Since I was very young, I was always fascinated by the punks and goths because they found a way to thrive outside social expectations. When you're an "outsider" you find other outsiders to fit in with. From being a teenage travelling squeegee punk to my current involvement with the kink scene, and every subculture in between, I've found community and acceptance for who I am. Subcultures may be misunderstood by people outside them, but having expressive communities for all types of people is what makes humans fascinating and interesting. Our differences do not need to be points of contention but rather glimpses into another facet of humanity.

Ne pas appartenir à la "société ordinaire" a toujours été en partie un choix et en partie des circonstances indépendantes de ma volonté. J'ai toujours été un "outsider". Depuis que je suis très jeune, j'ai toujours été fasciné par les punks et les goths parce qu'ils ont trouvé un moyen de s'épanouir en dehors des attentes sociales. Lorsque vous êtes un "outsider", vous trouvez d'autres avec qui vous intégrer. D'être une adolescente punk squeegee itinérante à mon implication actuelle avec la scène kink, et toutes les sous-cultures entre les deux, j'ai trouvé une communauté et une acceptation pour qui je suis. Les sous-cultures peuvent être mal comprises par des personnes extérieures, mais avoir des communautés expressives pour tous les types de personnes est ce qui rend les humains fascinants et intéressants. Nos différences n'ont pas besoin d'être des points de discorde, mais plutôt des aperçus d'une autre facette de l'humanité.
